Funny COVID-19 Joke

Walking down the street I intersected somebody. They said hello to me.

I said back, "Wow! Hello. I see you on TV all the time!"

The man surprised with my response says, "What are you talking about, what channels?"

I told him, "All of them except Animal Planet. That's the only channel that doesn't show humans! And today I intersected one! How amazing!!"

How To Increase Traffic To Your Blog by Improving Quality of The Content Already Published

If you're a blogger like me, then you're probably always looking for ways to get more traffic, more readers and more interactions on your blog. There's countless sites that offer SEO tips and endless articles and information about various things you can do to help your blog and your content appear in search engines when people search for certain keywords and phrases.

Most blogger think that they need to create tons of posts everyday to get their blog popular and seen in search engines. And while posting content frequently to your blog is indeed very important. One thing that most blogger over look is going back and improving the existing content that has already been published and indexed by search engines.

Taking time to go back and edit and add to existing content already published is an excellent idea because you're adding to quality content that's already indexed. And once the page is re-crawled and re-indexed with additional quality content; only good things can come from that.

Also sending out a notification (i.e. email, social networking site, etc.) to your followers and readers about the updated content on a page is helpful too because that generates a nice burst of activity and likely some additional comments too. This activity shows search engines that your content is fresh, updated and useful to people.

NOTE: If You Don't Have Followers or Readers Ask Your Friends To Visit - Incoming hits to your blog, pages, and posts are all tracked by search engines. Just having one person visit and read your posts can significantly impact and improve the positioning your content ranks in search results.

Even sending a simple email to a friend asking them to visit a blog post you recently edited can have a huge impact. And it's simple to do, doesn't take any time and most importantly assures you the highest call to action will occur. Here's an example:

Do People Really Go Crazy Being Alone?

With COVID-19 in The Air (No Pun Intended) Can Self-Isolation Make You Crazy?

I've been wondering about that? Can living a life in complete solitude cause a person to become crazy? I know that people who are live in solitary confinement in prison go crazy. That's statistically been proven already. But the question is can the same thing happen to people who live the same way but as a free person? Define free? In prison you're forced to stay inside a cell. With COVID-19 we're forced to stay in our home. How are things much different between these two examples?

The answer is they are not much different at all! Basically the long-story short, is your home has now become a luxury solitary confinement prison cell. Your cell just really happens to be a very Deluxe Edition. And either you have a cell mate or mates, or you happen to live in solitary confinement. See where I'm going with this?

So what happens to the people, such as myself, who falls into the I'm living in this deluxe jail cell alone? I've got a nice view and I even have two balconies. I'm allowed out of my cell to go grocery shopping and shopping for other essential items; but I'm instructed to quickly come back to my cell. And while I'm out of my cell, I can't touch people, and if I choose to talk to someone I must stand six feet away from them otherwise I could get sick from them. :P

Crazy situation right? You could easily think to yourself, "Hey the guy who wrote this post must be crazy!" But I'm not crazy. During the COVID-19 outbreak I've been doing a lot of things and keeping myself busy around the house. And example of keeping busy is writing this post. It's taken me so far about 30 minutes to think about what I wanted to write about, compose it and publish it. And after it's published I'll probably sit here for another 10 minutes re-reading what I wrote and then I'll likely spend another 5 minutes making some edits.

See how quickly time can pass when you keep your mind occupied. So yes... I think it's very possible for somebody to become crazy if they are isolated even in the best environments such as living in a nice home. But it all depends on your attitude and building a routine and keeping yourself busy. Right now I work six days a week. So that helps with passing the time. I also work from home. During my 1 day off per week, those are the days I find a little challenging. So I do things to allow the time to pass such as writing posts on my blog.

Are you alone during the COVID-19 outbreak? If so, you can share the things you have been doing towards continuing to live a wonderful and fun life. Post a comment using the form below to share your tips and ideas.

My Google Analytics Account Has Been Activated

This is very cool. I discovered a program that Google offers called Google Analytics. It's available for all kinds of different websites but it's very simple to use here on Blogger. All I had to do was go into my Blogger settings and add my analytics ID number and instantly I can now view how much traffic my blog gets. I am even able to track the stats in real time.

Here is a screenshot example. I'm the only visitor on the blog right now! Maybe that will change soon?
Here is a screenshot example. I'm the only visitor on the blog right now! Maybe that will change soon?
As you can see in the screenshot above, I can track traffic in real time. I tested this by visiting my blog and at the same time watching the Analytics screen. And sure enough, the moment I visited a post an orange dot appeared on the map! Pretty cool!

What are your thoughts knowing that right now as you are reading this post, I am tracking that you are doing it? I'm also tracking your location. I also know what type of device you are using to read this. And I know how long you have been here on the page reading this. I also know where you came from before you came to this page. And I will also know which page you leave from. If you come back, I will also know that too. I am able to keep track of how many times you have visited my blog and how often you come here!

Sounds pretty scary right! Well the good news is that I won't be able to figure out your name or your personal identity unless you provide that voluntarily or accidentally in a comment on one of my posts, or when sending me a message, or when sending me a direct e-mail. So even though I'm am able to track so much information; I won't be able to figure out who you are unless you do something stupid on my blog or provide me with information that you shouldn't.

The point is this: I love statistics; especially stats about my blog and the data my blog will generate when people visit it. I value and respect your privacy; and I expect the same from you. If there ever is a problem, keep in my that your IP address is also being logged. It's not too tricky for a guy like me to use data like mentioned above coupled with information that you have either accidentally or voluntarily provided me and figuring out who you are. So, just mind your P's and Q's and I think everything will work out fine! :P

My YouTube Account Will Be Activated and Ready In 24 Hours For Live Streaming

In 24 hours my new YouTube channel will be ready for live streaming on YouTube. Once my account is activated I plan to share the Live Stream videos I create on YouTube here on my blog. It's likely that soon most of the traffic coming to my blog will be fed from YouTube. So it's unlikely that you don't already know that I create Live Stream videos on YouTube because most likely if you are reading this post you probably came here from YouTube! :P

My YouTube Account Will Be Ready For Live Streaming In 24 Hours!
My YouTube Account Will Be Ready For Live Streaming In 24 Hours!

I'm not sure what things I will be talking about yet in my Live Streams but it'll probably be random things. I need some more time to think about it. I guess that's a good reason why Google says you have to wait 24 hours before Live Streaming for the first time. It gives me 24 hours to think about what I want to say during my first Broadcast. Meanwhile, if I choose to, I still can record a video OFFLINE and then upload it to my channel. But I'm going to wait because I want every video on my channel to be created via Live Stream and then saved.

I don't want to get myself all caught up into wasting time getting obsessed with video editing and spending hours and hours preparing and editing content. I simply want to just do "One-Take" / "One-Shot" filming and recording and just get it posted and saved quickly. And broadcasting LIVE achieves all of that. So, I'm going to wait until tomorrow and then I'll make my first Live Broadcast.

I also work for the next six days too, starting early morning and ending late evening. So it very well could be next Friday when I Go Live for the first time. I will just have to see how I'm feeling. For now, if you have any comments or thoughts you're welcome to post a comment below.

COVID-19 Panic Causes People Killing Pets

COVID-19 Panic is Causing People To Kill Their House Pets. Officials Announce Humans Can't Get Infected From Animals

It's honestly crazy the things people do in the world. I've caught "infected wind" that people are starting to dump their household pets because they fear that the animal can transfer the Coronavirus to them. Some people have even started killing their cats and dogs thinking that this will prevent their family from getting sick.

People Are Dumping and Killing Their House Pets To Prevent  COVID-19
I realize that a lot of people don't understand a lot about COVID-19. I'm not an expert by any means either! The amount of knowledge I have about the Coronavirus and preventing myself from getting infected and preventing the spread is likely the same as your level of education on the topic; probably even less!

But one thing I do know is that killing your dog isn't going to help you with not getting infected. Not only is this just a cruel and terrible act, but also your loved ones will dearly miss their house pet. I also think is USA animals have rights similar to humans. I believe it's likely against the law to kill your dog or cat.

And let's assume that it is legal to do it and let's also assume that your house pet is worthless, always getting into trouble, etc... and you feel killing it for those reasons alone are justified. Okay, well it's not going to help with preventing you from getting infected with COVID-19 and if anything killing your pet creates a bio-hazard inside your house which then makes you and your family susceptible to catching some other disease.

Long story short: If you kill your cat or dog you have a higher chance of getting a disease from having to deal with a dead animal in your house compared to the risk of getting infected with Coronavirus while in quarantine. Just my random thoughts for the day. You're welcome to post comments. I'm curious what you think.

Can Houseplants Prevent The Spread of COVID-19 Indoors?

Everyday I watch the Coronavirus news coverage on TV and each day it seems like the number of COVID-19 infections double and the virus continues to spread rapidly. That makes me think that Coronavirus is much easier to catch then what officials are telling us. And that leads me to wonder about how I can better protect myself while I am quarantined in my home.

Selfie on my balcony with some of my houseplants behind me.
Selfie on my balcony with some of my houseplants behind me.
I have a few houseplants; about 10 actually. I enjoy having them inside because it does seems to help brighten up the inside of my apartment and I enjoy looking at them thru the day. But another reason why I have houseplants inside my home is to help improve the air quality.

A few years ago I read online about a study that NASA did back in the 70's. Basically, they tested a a lot of different houseplants in the Space Station and created a top 10 list of houseplants that actually clean and filter the air inside! I have many of the same houseplants on their list.

These houseplants remove toxic chemicals from the air that get produced from plastic, press board, various types of material used in furniture, etc. So that got me to wondering if these houseplants can remove toxic chemicals from the air, can they also remove COVID-19 particles from the air also?

Just a random thought.... I'm sure that the few houseplants that I have in my home will offer any protection. But what if my entire apartment was simply filled with houseplants. Ferns hanging from every available spot, covering the entire area of the ceiling. What about having all the walls with hanging ivy? And what about the floor... what would happen if I poured about 6 inches of top soil on all the floor and allowed grass to grow?

What about sunlight you may ask? No problem! Let's assume also that I have all the artificial lighting required to make this indoor "outdoor" apartment flourish. Picture converting your home into a terrarium! Anyway, I'm just having one of those "think out-blog" moments. You're welcome to post a comment sharing with me and the world what you think! :)

Edit: 8/2/2020 -- I originally published this article on 4/10/2020 and a lot sure has changed since then with the Coronavirus. I would have to do some fact checking to look back on the number of infections back in April but I can tell you right now as of this moment the number of infections has now climbed to 17.8 million worldwide and 4.7 million in U.S.A alone! These numbers are skyrocketing and changing everyday

17.8 Million Covid-19 Infections Worldwide and 17.8 Million in U.S.A. as of August 2, 2020

These numbers are insanely high. And it's predicted to get much worse! And it's predicted that Coronavirus isn't going to go away any time soon. People are forecasting this virus outbreak can last years! So protecting yourself as much as you can is very important. And that has lead me to come back to this post and provide some updated information about whether common houseplants, such as spider plants, snake plants, peace lilies, or english ivy can help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The answer is YES! Having house plants inside your home can help prevent spreading the virus. The reason is because houseplants improve indoor air quality and help increase humidity. House plants act as natural, organic HEPA filters. Increased humidity helps because the virus prefers dry and hot weather. So if having house plants in your home is something you already have been doing -- such as a hobby -- then you're totally 100% on the correct path towards helping keep yourself safe.

How Far Does COVID-19 Travel Downwind In The Air?

It's been about a month since I have self-quarantined. I'm not sick or infected with Coronavirus. I decided to do this voluntarily. Why? Because I sincerely do NOT want to get infected with COVID-19! So that makes me wonder if the air I'm breathing outside when I'm sitting on my balcony could be infected with the virus? They say that we need to stay 6ft away from each other because the virus can easily spread in the air. Especially if someone coughs or sneezes.

Well today I was sitting outside on my balcony and it was windy. And that got me to thinking: How far can COVID-19 travel downwind in the air? If somebody who is infected sneezes into the wind 50 feet away from me, can the virus travel that far for me to breath it?

The reason why I started thinking about this is because it actually happened! Somebody upwind of me about 50 feet away sneezed. I think maybe a micro-second passed as my brain instantly processed WTF happened and that the wind was blowing in my direction.

Needless to say - but I will because I'm saying it now - I got up out of my chair almost instantly and muttered a "fuck that!" under my breath -- AS I'M HOLDING MY BREATH -- and rushed inside and shut the door. Yuck!!!

Anyway, if you have any thoughts or opinions you would like to share about what you think, definitely leave a comment below. I'm very curious to get people's opinions on this. How far can COVID-19 travel in the air downwind? That is the mystery question I have for myself today! :P
