I'm Thinking About Starting a Live Video Stream of Myself at Home

In 1999 there was a movie that I really enjoyed watching called Edtv. It was about a guy that agreed to be video recorded by a television network 24 hours a day; around the clock... all night and all day. When I watched that movie I thought to myself that would be kinda neat to do the same thing.

So today I started the Live Video Stream of myself at home. I have three camera. Kitchen Cam #1, Bedroom Cam #2, and Livingroom Cam #3. Right now I'm only showing the Live Stream to my girlfriend. When she is at home she is the only person who can see me right now. Here is a screenshot example of what the cameras look like:

A Morning During My Day Off Without Internet

Today is my day off from work. I woke up today without Internet. A bad storm in Nashville took out the main fiber optic line to my local ISP and right now their backup connection to Dallas has gone offline for some reason. So long story short; I'm pretty much OFFLINE today. The only reason why I'm technically "online" right now is because one of the computers I use has been able to pickup the "Public Wifi" from a business within range of my home. The connection is very slow, but it works.

My morning online habits are probably a lot like your's. When I wake up, I usually open my iPad right away to check for things I have missed. In my case; I like to check e-mail, visit FaceBook and check FaceBook Messenger. Lucky for me, I found a way to connect; but as I mentioned, the connection is very very slow. One thing I did was look for ways to access FaceBook where it would load quickly.

The best way I found was by going to https://mbasic.facebook.com. This loads a very basic version of FaceBook that loads quickly. It kind of reminds me a lot of how all websites use to look back in the late 90's thru mid-2000's. Viewing FaceBook today using this basic version has been a huge success since I have a very low signal. I've been quite impressed. Here is a screenshot example:

Pretty cool! So even though my morning during my day off work has been technically without my Internet; I still figured out a way to get online using a very slow and weak signal public wifi connection and load and use FaceBook using a very basic and simple version of their website.

So far today, my day has been splendid! :)

How about you? How has your day been so far today world?

My Second Post

This is too funny. The last time I posted an update to this blog was almost 14 years ago. I guess I just forgot about it or lost interest. Just one year ago I moved into my new apartment. It's a very small apartment and slowly I have been trying to purchase new furniture and items to furnish and decorate it. This evening, as I do many evenings during the week; I have been researching different things to possibly purchase for my home and different ideas. But tonight I got to thinking that it would be fun to finally start a blog and share with the world a lot of the stuff I do. Anyway, I'll be sure to update this page soon again to explain a little more about what this blog is about and also include a way for readers to be able to contact me.
